The brief
Wayfinding that oriented new members from the front desk and reduced early cancellations tied to confusion.
What we made
A big-box gym where new members routinely could not find the functional area or the studios and often just left. We numbered the zones, put oversized zone markers where they are visible from the entrance, and ran floor graphics along the main routes. The design language is loud on purpose, because it has to work from across a noisy room.
The outcome
Front-desk staff report far fewer directions requests, and the gym has rolled the system out to a second location.
